The engine under the hood
Traggo pioneered tag-based time tracking, and Moment Tally Server is built from its internals, extended under AGPL 3.0 to enhance the label-based workflow UX — the Moment Tally way. Traggo's data model is the foundation we build on. Without it there'd be no Moment Tally.
The model we borrowed
Prometheus made labels the primitive for observability at scale: every metric carries key: value dimensions you can slice and aggregate any way you like. Moment Tally organizes your time with the same principles in mind, whether you're starting your first project or managing dozens.
Stars are the currency of open source — they signal that work matters and help others find it. A star on Traggo and Prometheus costs nothing and helps the next person find the work this app is built on.

We've been using these fantastic menu bar apps for years to improve our experience on macOS. We took cues from these great apps while designing Moment Tally: quiet, unobtrusive styling in the menu bar, with a rich popover and menu experience for everything else. We can highly recommend all of them:
